24th Vyaas Samman conferred on eminent Hindi writer Dr Kamal Kishore Goenka

The prestigious 24th Vyaas Samman for 2014 was conferred on eminent Hindi writer Dr Kamal Kishore Goenka for his work ‘Premchand ki Kahaniyon ka Kaal kramanusaar Adhyayan’.
Addressing mediapersons, Dr Goenka on the occasion said,”This is a time in life, which I never imagined. I am grateful for the honour bestowed
It was published in 2012. This book is a chronological study of short stories written by Munsi Premchand. The selection was made by a committee headed by Mr. Surya Prakash Dixit (former head of Lucknow University).

About the Vyas Samman

The award was instituted in 1991 by the KK Birla Foundation. It is presented to an outstanding literary work in Hindi published during the last 10 years.
Ram Vilas Sharma was the first person to receive the award for his Bharat ke Pracheen bhasha parivar aur Hindi in 1991.
Vishwanath Tripathi received the award for the year 2013 for his memoir ‘Vyomkesh Darvesh’ that is a biography of the noted Hindi scholar Acharya Hazari Prasad Dwivedi. While, Narendra Kohli received the award for his work ‘Na Bhooto Na Bhavishyati’ in 2012 and Ramdarash Misra for his collection of poems ‘Aam K Patte’ in 2011

The Vyas Samman 2013 was awarded to Vishwanath Tripathi for his memoir Vyomkesh Darvesh.
The Vyas Samman 2012 was awarded to Narendra Kohli for his novel Na Bhooto Na Bhavishyati.
The Vyas Samman 2011 was awarded to Ramdarash Misra for his collection of poems Aam Ke Patte.
The first Vyas Samman 1991 was awarded to Dr. Ram Vilas Sharma for his work written in 3 volumes Bharat ke Pracheen bhasha parivar aur Hindi.
